WebMar 23, 2024 · The Graph-Tech String Saver Classics are the one's I swear by on a Strat. It's rare that I ever break a string anymore anyway. But I do bend so much with light gauge strings that my string can wander some with the Fender bent steel. They made my main Strat sound fuller, and a bit warmer with a nice midrange. WebJan 27, 2014 · I've been reading reviews for string savers.. So the consensus is that it reduces string breakage drastically but it (the black one) removes a little high end of your tone. I ended up replacing the graphite GraphTech saddles with the FerraGlide Graphtech saddles. The FerraGlides have graphite only at the point of contact on the saddle. The rest of the saddle is stainless steel, I think.
