WebPlain hunting consists of a linear undeviating course of a bell between the first and last places in the striking order, with two strikes in the first and last position to enable a turn-around. On eight bells this is shown in the accompanying diagram below, where all the bells are plain hunting. WebRinging Plain Hunt is simply repeating these three stages, always in this order. Two leads of Plain Hunt on 5 are written out for each bell. You can see the bell you follow, but you can also see how more bells need to strike between your blows when hunting out (slow) than when hunting in (quick) – try it, count them!
