WebNov 11, 2024 · From the Pembrokeshire Blue Lagoon, we decided to walk to Porthgain along the cliffside. On our way, we were delighted to come across the beautiful Traeth Lynn Beach, one of our favourite beaches in Wales. It takes roughly 15-minutes to reach the beach, and you will descend a beautiful staircase. The tiny fishing port of Porthgain once exported road stone all over the UK, while Abereiddi’s famous Blue Lagoon is a former slate quarry.

WebMay 12, 2024 · The ‘Blue Lagoon’ is a ruin of the St Brides Slate Quarry in Abereiddy that was established in the 19th century. Similar to the quarry of Porthgain, it was in use from the 1840s to the 1890s. Back then, this quarry was linked to Porthgain by a tramway that was worked by horses.
